Clear Lanes Are Closing Down Forever Tonight

The Clear Card and Clear Lanes will discontinue service at 11pm pst tonight. I had an 8:30 flight out of Orlando this evening and used the Clear Lane for the last time without knowing. I saw my favorite manager, and although he seemed a bit out of sorts, I could never have guessed that they were shutting down.

Here is the quote on whats left of their site.

"Clear Lanes Are No Longer Available.

At 11:00 p.m. PST on June 22, 2009, Clear will cease operations. Clear’s parent company, Verified Identity Pass, Inc. has been unable to negotiate an agreement with its senior creditor to continue operations." 

Eerie… not only was I one of Clear's first ever customers when they launched in Orlando, I was now in their last group of travelers using their service.

Clear has saved me so many hours of waiting in line over the past few years . . . I will greatly miss them.
